Sojourn Galleria

Enjoying Jesus And Joining Him in the Renewal of All Things

A Neighborhood Church

We believe that the Church is a people to belong to rather than an event to attend. In order to be a people that belong to one another, we need to live in close proximity to one another to do life together. Sojourn Galleria exists as a neighborhood-based congregation. We seek to minister to and live with the people in the larger Galleria community of Houston. We are not a commuter church, but visitors are welcome always!

That exists to Enjoy Jesus

The Westminster divines began their Larger Catechism with the question, “What is the chief and highest end of man?”  They answered, “Man’s chief and highest end is to glorify God, and fully to enjoy Him forever.”  The point of life is to glorify God by enjoying Him.  That can only happen through the Person and work of Jesus, God’s Son He sent to save and reconcile us to His Father.  Jesus is not just our Savior. He is also the Creator and King.  The point of life is to enjoy Him in everything we do.

And join Him in the renewal of all things

God called us to this global city and to this place in the city, has planted us in this geography, and has given us a burning desire to see the people in it reconciled to God and one another and every square inch of it renewed for His glory.  We long for others to know Jesus is King over all creation, not just Sunday mornings and Sunday spaces, and that everything we do from Monday to Saturday matters to him: our work and rest and play are His idea and so from Him and for Him.  All that is not sin is sacred.  He is Sovereign over all.
